The manufacture of Oil boilers recommended that oil fired boilers are serviced annually for efficiency and safety.  For example blocked nozzles and filters can have a major effect on the efficiency of the unit and increase fuel costs by as much as 30%.  In some case it can lead to fire in the blast chamber.

What is included in a oil boiler service...

  • Replace the nozzle
  • Clean the blast tube
  • Check / test solenoids
  • Check clean photocell
  • Test the ignition transformer
  • Disassemble the oil pump off the burner and replace any worn drive couplings
  • Open pump clean internal filter
  • Lubricate the motors shaft and bearings

  • Check and adjust electrode settings
  • Reassemble the burner and test, adjusting oil pressure and air settings to the manufactures recommended settings.
  • Inspect tank isolation
  • Complete tank risk assessment in accordance with OFTEC 600A Training
  • Inspect location for safety

Oil Boiler Breakdown

Oil boiler breakdowns will only be attended by a Rubex Energy engineer. We do not sub -contract work.
Engineers are trained to fault find on the oil boiler.

If the engineer arrives on site and diagnoses that the job will take longer than two hours we will prepare an estimate before commencing work if you require this.

Faulty Boiler?

Oil burner keeps tripping the lockout button?

If your oil burner stops running, the first thing you should do is check the reset button. If you press it and the burner fires up then that was the problem. If the button should trip again then there is a fault and you should arrange an engineer to rectify the fault. Do not keep resetting the button and ignoring the problem.

Why does it trip?

It is a safety device. It shuts the burner down when it thinks there is a problem. The could be many reason why the boiler fail Either there is no flame or the  photo cell sensor is faulty.
